I love introducing my kids to the world. We like to travel, though not as much as we actually want. And it is part of my mission to raise world citizens.
So geography and world cultures is always a subject each year in our homeschool. And I LOVE finding vibrant resources that engage my kids and make them want to learn more. So when I saw this book on How to Read Maps by World Explorers (aff link), I knew I was going to make it a giveaway for MommyMaestra readers. I carried it with me all the way from North Carolina 9 months ago with my Back-to-School Fiesta in mind. 😉
This book by Joe Fullman is gorgeous and fun. It's an easy read and contains colorful illustrations on the topics of what are maps, how to use them, how to make them, the roles of satellites and GPS, the elements of a map, modern mapping, and more. It's best suited for kids in elementary grades K - 3rd.
The best part might be the giant folded map inserted inside the front cover! Perfect for home classrooms or a child's bedroom wall decoration.
