Day of the dead, or Día de los Muertos, actually takes place on November 2nd, but did you know that the festivities also include Día de los Angelitos? Day of the Little Angels is celebrated on November 1st and remembers all the lives of children and infants who have passed away.
It is a beautiful way to remember an extremely painful moment, but instead of dwelling on loss and the what ifs, it is an opportunity for us to remember the beauty of their lives and gives hope that one day we will meet again. For parents, it is an especially bittersweet day, but one that provides space for healing and celebration.
This post is dedicated to all the parents who have lost children in this world. I am holding you close in my heart.
