Last month I wrote a review of this ground-breaking book for Latino children. It is the first bilingual picture book that features Latinas in the military and is a powerful tool for teachers and parents who want to help empower their students and children. Good Night, Captain Mama/Buenas noches, Capitán Mamá is lovely story about a young boy and his mother, who happens to serve in the U.S. Air Force. In addition, there is a template in the back of the book that you can copy and give to your child/students so that they can create their own patches. But the teacher's pack actually comes with real patches as you can see in the picture above.
